A star/delta Telemetrix panel, turned round quickly for an Oxford campus
A pumping station on a university campus in Oxford needed its control panel replaced, along with the pump and the float switches. The pump specialist specified a bespoke star/delta Telemetrix panel with remote monitoring, and the whole job, panel, floats and a new 6kW Sulzer pump, was done in a morning.

- Star/delta Telemetrix

- 6kW Sulzer pump, new floats
The challenge
Replace an end-of-life panel on a live campus, for a pump too large for the direct-on-line starter the standard range uses.
What we supplied
A bespoke Telemetrix panel with star/delta starting and remote monitoring, plus new float switches.
The result
Turned round quickly to the pump specialist's specification, with alerts for pump trip, high level and panel offline.
The requirement
Replace an end-of-life pump control panel on a live campus with one that includes remote monitoring, for a pump large enough to need star/delta starting rather than the direct-on-line starter the standard Telemetrix panel is built with.
The constraints
- Star/delta starting for a 6kW Sulzer pump, so a bespoke build on the Telemetrix platform rather than a stock panel.
- The panel, the pump and the floats all changed in one visit, on a working campus.
- The contractor needed the panel quickly to hold the programme.
What we built
A bespoke Telemetrix panel with star/delta starting, remote monitoring and alerts for pump trip, high level and panel offline, built in Stoke-on-Trent to the pump specialist's specification. New float switches on a stainless steel bracket and the replacement pump completed the station.
Delivery
Built to order and turned round to suit the contractor's date.
The outcome
Old panel out, new panel in, floats and pump replaced, remote monitoring live: a morning's work for two engineers. Jamie Allen, Operations Director at the pump specialist: "A massive thank you to G&G Controls for the efficient turnaround of this bespoke star/delta Telemetrix control panel."
