Three Telemetrix panels for West Sussex County Council's landfill pumping stations
The contractor look after the pumping infrastructure at West Sussex County Council's landfill sites under a long-term asset management contract. They fitted three wastewater high-level Telemetrix panels so the council gets live status and alerts, and maintenance can be preventative rather than reactive.

The challenge
Closed landfill pumping stations visited on a schedule rather than daily, for a client that wants problems caught before they become spills.
What we supplied
Three Telemetrix wastewater panels, the same specification at each station, with the high level alarm and remote monitoring built in.
The result
Live status and alerts on all three stations, feeding preventative maintenance for the council.
The requirement
Reliable pumping at closed landfill sites that are visited on a schedule, not daily, for a public sector client that wants problems caught before they become spills. The panels had to give the contractor and the council warning of a high level or a pump trip without an ongoing monitoring subscription.
The constraints
- Remote sites: nobody on hand to notice a beacon, so the alert has to reach a phone.
- A public sector client under a long-term asset management strategy: documented, repeatable panels rather than one-offs.
- Three stations to install and commission alongside the week's routine work.
What we built
Three Telemetrix wastewater panels from the standard range, each with the high level alarm and remote monitoring built in: pump trip, high level and panel offline alerts by email and text to the contractor's team, connected over 4G or the site network. Same panel at each station, so the engineers and the council's records see one thing three times.
Delivery
Supplied from the Telemetrix range and installed and commissioned by the contractor's engineers within the week, alongside the induction of a new pump engineer on his first project.
The outcome
Real-time monitoring and alerts on all three stations, feeding the contractor's preventative maintenance for the council. In the contractor's words, the installation helps ensure "reliable waste management, sustainability and continued operational resilience" for the council's landfill sites.
